What Do We Mean By Like For Like?
Not all quotes are created equal. For our price promise to apply, the comparison must be for the exact same product — that means the same brand, the same range, the same colour and the same specification. It must also include the same services such as underlay, fitting and any extras. We ask for this because it's the only way to make a fair comparison. Some retailers use cheaper alternatives, thinner underlay or subcontracted fitters to bring their price down, which might look cheaper on paper but won't give you the same result. In some cases we may ask you to provide a copy of the other quotation so we can check the details and make sure you're genuinely comparing like for like. This isn't to catch you out — it's to make sure you're getting a fair deal and not being misled by a quote that's cut corners to look cheaper.

- Does it have to be the exact same product? Yes. Our price promise is strictly like for like. That means the same brand, range, colour and specification. We can't match prices on different products that may look similar but aren't the same.
- Will I need to show proof of the other price? In most cases, yes. We may ask you to provide a written quotation or advertisement from the competitor so we can verify the product and the price. This ensures a fair and genuine comparison.
- Does it cover online retailers? Our price promise applies to other bona fide flooring retailers. The competitor must be an authorised stockist of the product and the price must be currently available, not a clearance or closing-down sale.
- Does fitting need to be included in the comparison? Yes. For the comparison to be fair, the competitor's quote should include the same level of service — including underlay, fitting and any other extras. A supply-only price can't be compared against our fully fitted quote.
- What if the other quote uses different underlay or a subcontractor? That wouldn't be a like-for-like comparison. Our quotes include quality underlay and installation by our own directly employed fitters. A cheaper quote using thinner underlay or subcontracted fitters isn't the same product or service.
